“Serving all of Hernando, parts of South Citrus and South Sumter Counties”
The purpose of guttering systems is to collect water (rain) from the roofing area and disperse the water away from your home. Properly configured gutter and downspouts are very essential. A faulty guttering system can contribute to damage to soffit & fascia, shingles, building foundations, driveways, walkways, and landscaping.
For homes in most regions of the country, rain gutters and downspouts are necessary to collect and carry away rainwater. Without them, foundations become feedlots for mold that can sicken your family and rot your foundation, also water would erode the soil, splash dirt onto the side of your home and likely leak into the basement or crawlspace.
In Florida, many homes have 5-inch house gutters with 2”x3” downspouts. As new house roofs become larger, the 5-inch gutter system with 2”x3” downspouts are becoming obsolete. They simply cannot handle the water from these larger house roofs. Some houses have the self-installed plastic or vinyl gutters that were purchased from the big box stores. This style of gutter cannot handle the Florida summer heavy rains efficiently either. Many times, the rain fills up the 5-inch or plastic vinyl style gutters causing the system to pull away from the house resulted in damaged fascia and fascia board on the house. Rainwater also overflows the top of the gutters because the gutter system can’t drain effectively enough to handle the quick heavy downpours of rain during the Florida summer thunderstorms. Houses with angled fascia board that have existing gutters are subject to water overshooting the gutter and pouring directly to the ground if the gutters were not installed properly. Vinyl or plastic gutters eventually dry rot and become brittle and will have to be replaced.
If you’re going to replace your old worn out gutters and downspouts, you may as well upgrade the entire look and gutter performance for your home with an aluminum 6-inch gutter system with 3”x4” aluminum downspouts installed by Hernando Aluminum, Inc. These gutter systems are a long-term solution to your rainwater problem. Made from aluminum and virtually seamless, these gutter systems are custom rolled out on the Jobsite to fit the longer lengths on the eaves of today’s largest houses. Our internal gutter hangers replace the old spike and feral method and are unseen from the outside while looking up at the eave of your house. We install gutter wedges on houses that have angled eaves to level the gutter, so the rainwater properly drains from the roof to the gutter and doesn’t overshoot it. Aluminum 3”x4” downspouts are installed to help debris and other environmental elements flow efficiently so water can escape the gutter easier and not clog as fast. Optional extensions can be added to the bottom of the downspouts to distribute water away from the house in various lengths. We offer different color gutters to complement or offset your color scheme on your house.
