There are many homeowners in the state of Florida as well as all around the country that love the ability to go outside and relax. During certain times of the year it can feel a lot better to an individual to go outside than to stay cooped up inside a home.
But going outside is not always enjoyable because there are some issues that can cause people to be uncomfortable. For example, one of the more common issues that people have with going outside is being bothered by insects and other small nuisances.
Luckily the best way to deal with some of these issues is to find an area outside that is closed off such as with screen rooms. Spring Hill residents might have heard about porches and patios before, but are these the same thing as a screen room?
What is a Screen Room?
A screen room is a closed off area that allows people to go outside without actually being completely exposed to outside forces. The most common way to see a screen room utilized in a residential home is to have them over a pool so that bugs and debris do not end up getting into the pool.
Screens are a lot more durable than you might think, and it takes a great amount of force from wind to have them get destroyed. This makes them a great investment to have because they will last for many years without the need to be replaced by a homeowner.
When it comes to screened rooms, they do not have to be just to cover pools. Many people choose to have their patio covered by a screened enclosure for much of the same reasons. Consider how a home gardener can end up protecting their plants for the same issues that would bother an individual or become a problem for a pool.
Is a Screen Room the Same as a Sun room?
One common misconception that some homeowners have is that a sun room and a screen room are the same thing and their titles are used interchangeably similar to how someone would say car and automobile are the same.
Sun rooms are not the same as screen rooms. Spring Hill residents should be made aware that a sun room has its walls covered mostly by glass to allow an attached area of the home to have more sun and viewing capability. This is something that can be the same for a screen room, but a screen room is designed to have more exposure to the elements outside like feeling a gentle breeze.
Both options are great for different homeowners, but it is important for homeowners to know that there is a difference, so they don’t end up getting the wrong room for activities and how they would like to enjoy the outside.
