Living in the state of Florida, and other hotter areas of the country, there are a lot of homes that have some sort of room that is designed for people to enjoy the outdoors from the comfort of their own home.
There are two major types of rooms that you will find in many Florida homes. One is known as a sun room, and the other is known as a screened room. Masaryktown residents might be under the impression that these are two separate names for the same room, but this is not true.
These two types of rooms function very differently, and they will appeal to different types of people. Here we will be going over some of the differences between a screened room and sun room so that homeowners will know which one they prefer.
What is a screened room?
Screened rooms are an exterior structure that will go on the outside of the home but still connect to the inside of the home so that a homeowner can move freely between inside and outside. This is the type of structure that would be on the patio or porch of a home to create a screened area to keep bugs away while being outside enjoying a nice breeze.
As is implied with the named screened rooms, Masaryktown residents should know that the sides of these structures are going to be covered with screened panels, to allow in a good amount of airflow. This is one feature that a sun room will not have.
Because of this, some homeowners will find it less enjoyable to be relaxing in a screened room during the warmer months of the year, but during the cooler months, it is often preferred to have a screened room instead of a sun room.
What is a Sun room?
Sun rooms are another popular option that gives homeowners more use out of the outside areas of their home.
The major difference between a sun room and a screened room is that a sun room will be attached to the home and be sectioned off with walls that stop outside environmental conditions from reaching the room, unlike that of screened rooms. Masaryktown residents should know that they will not benefit from a nice cool breeze like with a screened room, but also they do not have to deal with the harsh heat during the warmer months of the year.
Instead of being able to see outside through screened panels, a sun room will have many windows that a homeowner can see out of. The additional glass can heat up a sun room quickly, but because it is a room connected to the hvac system of a home, it can also be cooled down quickly.
